Libyan Parliamentary Delegation Due in Tehran Soon

TEHRAN The Libyan Parliament Speaker Zanati Muhammad Zanati said that a parliamentary delegation from his country is to visit Tehran in the near future. In a meeting with the Iranian Ambassador to Tripoli Nasrollah Mirzaei on Saturday, the Libyan speaker underlined the need for further expansion of relations between the Islamic Republic of Iran and Libya at bilateral, regional and international levels.
Referring to Tehran-Tripoli consolidated relations and common stances on the issues related to the world of Islam and other issues, he called Iran a friend of Libya and a Muslim and independent state which is trying to promote Islam. Similar to the Islamic Republic, Libya is also a country fond of Islam and Qoran, he added. Concerning the forthcoming preliminary session of the Islamic Inter-Parliamentary Union, which is to be held in Tehran in the near future, Zanati said the Libyan Parliament representatives will take part in the session.
